REELY TEENY WEENY FILM SPECATCULAR: Cinema/Chicago’s Junior Board Announces Film Contest Call for Entries
CHICAGO, February 17, 2012 – The Junior Board of Cinema/Chicago and The Chicago International Film Festival, the oldest competitive film festival in North America, last week announced the Call for Entries for The Reely Teeny Weeny Film Spectacular.
This contest, in which filmmakers will create a one-minute homage to their favorite film or film scene, accepts entries through April 13, 2012. It is open to amateur and professional filmmakers.
“The Junior Board truly believes in and supports the mission of Cinema/Chicago. This event not only celebrates film and creativity, but it also celebrates the Junior Board and the hard work they put into our organization each year. We can’t wait for what is sure to be an exciting and entertaining night!” said Rebecca Fons, Education Program Manager of the Chicago International Film Festival and staff liaison to the Junior Board.
“The Junior Board is extremely excited and pleased to present the Reely Teeny Weeny Film Spectacular! By screening our winner at this year's Junior Board event at the Festival in October, one film enthusiast, film student and/or future film extraordinaire will be able to showcase his or her work in an international setting. You never know who's sitting in the audience..." added Hanna Soltys, Junior Board Co-President.
Approximately 15 films will be selected by the Junior Board and screened at a party on Monday, April 30 (location TBD). Tickets to the event will be $25 and will be available for purchase in April at http://www.chicagofilmfestival.com/catalog/. The audience will then vote for their favorite film, which will be shown before the Junior Board screening at the 48th Chicago International Film Festival (October 11-25, 2012). The winning film is not an official selection of the Chicago International Film Festival nor does the film’s director receive Festival benefits or accreditation.
