GLAM TIME: Star watchers will be in for a treat Saturday night if they head down to the Museum of Science and Industry. Word has it a number of actors who have worked with Ron Howard will be on hand to honor the director and former child star as he receives a career achievement award at the Chicago International Film Festival's annual summer gala.
Among those expected to show up to toast the Oscar winner: Jennifer Connelly, the Academy Award-winning star of Howard's ''A Beautiful Mind"; her husband, actor Paul Bettany; veteran actor Brian Dennehy (who starred in Howard's ''Cocoon''), and the stars of the film Howard currently is shooting in Chicago -- Vince Vaughn, Kevin James and Winona Ryder.
• Also scheduled to attend are key Hollywood heavyweights, including Universal Pictures head honcho Ron Meyer and Howard's Imagine production company partner Brian Grazer.
• The program will feature a number of taped tributes, including one from Sun-Times film critic Roger Ebert, and a video produced by Mayor Daley that reportedly includes a personal salute to Howard's Chicago-made ''Backdraft.'' To read more from Sun-Times Columnist Bill Zwecker, click here.
