Juries Announced for the 54th Chicago International Film Festival

The 54th Chicago International Film Festival today announced the jury members for its competitions, featuring a host of acclaimed filmmakers from across the globe. Juries will review films competing for prizes in the following categories: International Competition; New Directors Competition; International Documentary Competition; Out-Look; Shorts; and The Chicago Award.

The International Feature Film Competition jury will award the Gold Hugo for Best Film as well as a range of Silver Hugos and Plaques for awards, including Best Director, Best Actor/Actress, Best Cinematography, and Best Screenplay.

The Chicago International Film Festival is very excited to welcome the director and star of The Road Not TakenGaopeng Tang and Qi Xiaojing. The film’s protagonist is a bumbling ostrich farmer, indebted to the local mob. He agrees to take care of a sullen kidnapped boy until his father pays his ransom. The Chicago International Film Festival is very excited to welcome the writer, producer, and lead actress of Olympia, McKenzie Chinn. Featuring quirky animation and a revelatory central performance, Olympia is a heartfelt story for anyone who’s ever felt adrift on the rough seas of adulthood. Director Gregory Dixon, producer Sarah Sharp, and actor Charles Andrew Gardner are also scheduled to attend.
