MARSHALL to Open the 53rd Chicago International Film Festival

The Chicago International Film Festival today announced Marshall as the Opening Night film for the Festival’s 53rd edition, October 12-26, 2017. Director Reginald Hudlin, actor/producer Chadwick Boseman, actors Josh Gad and Sterling K. Brown, and producer Paula Wagner are scheduled to attend the premiere at AMC River East 21 (322 E. Illinois St.).

Led by evening sponsors Bloomberg Philanthropies and Wintrust Community Banks, the Opening Night celebration will be held at AMC River East 21 on Thursday, October 12 at 7 p.m.[…]

Opening Night Selection Makes Oscars History

Opening Night selection La La Land makes Oscars history with a whopping fourteen nominations for the 89th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director. Best Original Screenplay and many, many more. Writer/director Damien Chazelle attended the 52nd Chicago International Film Festival in October, just as the buzz around this magical musical started to build.

Festival Selections Win Big at the Golden Globe Awards

This weekend, Awards season officially began with the Golden Globes, the star-studded evening that honors the year’s best in film and television. We watched with pride as several Chicago International Film Festival selections won across several categories!

Flicks at the Public: Monthly Film Series

The Associate Board of Cinema/Chicago is proud to announce their 2017 screening series, in partnership with the Public Hotel Chicago, Stella Artois and Wansas Tequila. Flicks at the Public presents screenings at The Public Hotel’s plush screening room featuring some of the most beloved classic films of recent memory. Proceeds from each event go directly to Cinema/Chicago’s Education Program that brings independent film to Chicagoland students.
