Director Spotlight: Isidore Bethel on ACTS OF LOVE

Filmmaker magazine named Isidore Bethel one of the “25 New Faces of Independent Film” last year. We’re honored to host him in Chicago this week for a special screening of his new film Acts of Love, a docu-fiction hybrid story about make sexuality he co-directed with Francis Leplay. The Hollywood Reporter called Acts of Love, which was shot in Chicago, an “exciting, genre-bending film” that “stands out in its exploration of attraction, desire, sex and intimacy.”

The 57th Chicago International Film Festival announced today the program for Industry Days, to be held October 14 – 17, 2021, with an impressive list of guest speakers to inspire and illuminate the film and entertainment community.

Highlights include this year’s Keynote talk with Brenda Gilbert, President and Co-Founder of BRON Studios, which has received six Academy Award wins for films such as Fences, Joker, Bombshell, Roman J. Today, the 57th Chicago International Film Festival announced our international competitions lineup. This year’s festival, running October 13 – 24, 2021, continues the tradition of introducing bold new films to American audiences for the first time, showcasing films from countries around the world, including Colombia, Jordan, France, South Africa, Cambodia, the Faroe Islands, Germany, and more.
