Chicago International Film Festival to Receive $30,000 Grant from the NEA

The Chicago International Film Festival has been approved for a $30,000 Grants for Arts Projects award from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support the Chicago Industry Exchange program. This project will support the Industry Days conference and year-round artistic and professional development programming for independent film and media artists.This project is among 1,130 projects across the country, totaling more than $31 million, that were selected during this second round of Grants for Arts Projects fiscal year 2023 funding.[…]

Winner of The Pitch Announced: James Choi’s All Things Considered

The 58th Chicago International Film Festival, presented by Cinema/Chicago, announced the winner of The Pitch at the 8th edition of
Industry Days: All Things Considered, written and directed by James Choi. The film follows a young Korean-American man whose spirited mother is determined to reconnect with her son and help him with his depression through a “fake funeral” ritual that promises to deliver people from their despair.
