CHICAGO, April 27, 2015 – The 11th annual CineYouth Festival, presented by Cinema/Chicago and the 51st Chicago International Film Festival, released the full schedule of student made short films that will screen during the Festival, May 7-9, 2015. The three-day festival showcases films by talented young filmmakers, age 21 and younger from the United States and abroad. This year’s program includes 90 films from over ten countries including the United States, Argentina, Canada, Singapore and Iran. Additionally, a hands-on film challenge is taking place, welcoming 30 participants age 12-21 to work in teams to make short films in less than seven hours.[…]

Cinema/Chicago Receives National Endowment for the Arts Grant of $65,000

Chicago, IL (December 9, 2014)— National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu announced December 2, 2014 that Cinema/Chicago is one of 919 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant. Cinema/Chicago is recommended for a $65,000 grant to support the 51st Chicago International Film Festival and the 12th annual International Screenings Program.
Cinema/Chicago is the parent organization of the Chicago International Film Festival, the oldest competitive international film festival in North America.
