We’re thrilled to announce Edward Norton’s Motherless Brooklyn will open the 55th Chicago International Film Festival!
Edward Norton‘s star-studded adaptation of Jonathan Lethem’s ground-breaking novel features a stellar ensemble cast that also includes Bruce Willis, Leslie Mann, Fisher Stevens, Alec Baldwin, and Willem Dafoe, among many more. Entertainment Weekly‘s review of the film called it “a meticulously, lovingly made mood piece, full of empathy for the ones who can’t speak – at least not always the way they want to – for themselves.”
Join us for Opening Night on Wednesday, October 16. A VIP after-party with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will follow at the beautiful Burlington Room at Union Station.
Tickets start at $30 with VIP tickets (including film and after-party) at $100/ticket. Ticket and event information is available on our website.
Tickets for Opening Night go on sale at 12pm on Thursday, September 19.
Motherless Brooklyn
Director: Edward Norton
U.S.
Lionel Essrog (Edward Norton), a lonely private detective living with Tourette Syndrome, ventures to solve the murder of his mentor and only friend, Frank Minna (Bruce Willis). Armed only with a few clues and the engine of his obsessive mind, Lionel unravels closely guarded secrets that hold the fate of New York in the balance. In a mystery that carries him from gin-soaked jazz clubs in Harlem to the hard-edged slums of Brooklyn and, finally, into the gilded halls of New York’s power brokers, Lionel contends with thugs, corruption and the most dangerous man in the city to honor his friend and save the woman who might be his own salvation.
The film’s stellar ensemble cast also includes Bruce Willis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Bobby Cannavale, Cherry Jones, Michael Kenneth Williams, Leslie Mann, Ethan Suplee, Dallas Roberts, Josh Pais, Robert Ray Wisdom, Fisher Stevens, with Alec Baldwin and Willem Dafoe.
