About Arianna Bocco
Considered one of the most seasoned and influential content strategy and distribution leaders in the independent film and entertainment field, Arianna Bocco has a proven track record of managing diverse teams with varied business strategies while achieving consistent growth and exceeding annual revenue targets. Most recently, Bocco served as the President of IFC Films, a role in which she oversaw acquisitions, production, marketing, and publicity, as well as theatrical film distribution for all the AMC Networks film labels, including IFC Films, RJE Films, and the premium targeted SVOD Shudder. She also oversaw the independent NYC-based movie theater, the IFC Center, and the library subscription streaming service, IFC Films Unlimited.
Bocco joined IFC Films in 2006 where she initially spearheaded all acquisitions and productions for IFC Films, Sundance Selects and IFC Midnight. She assumed leadership of RJE in 2020 and Shudder in 2022. She has curated, negotiated, and acquired the rights to some of the most critically acclaimed independent films from around the world and managed release slates of up to 60 films per year. Bocco has worked across all genres of film and some of her notable acquisitions from IFC Films included: Richard Linklater’s Boyhood; Gus Van Sant’s Paranoid Park; Cannes Grand Jury Prize-winner Gomorrah directed by Matteo Garrone; Steve McQueen’s Camera d’Or-winner Hunger starring Michael Fassbender; Andrew Haigh’s Berlin award-winner and Oscar-nominated 45 Years starring Charlotte Rampling and his second feature Weekend; Lena Dunham’s Tiny Furniture; Barry Jenkins’ Medicine for Melancholy; and Steven Soderbergh’s Che starring Benicio Del Toro; among many others.
