Synopsis
Lam, a Vietnamese international student, reconnects with her younger sister, Phuong, when she visits Chicago after their father’s death abroad. Quietly moving and realistically rendered, Video Funeral illustrates the ways the pandemic changed our expressions of grief.

A grandson uses animation to reconstruct a loved one’s lost memories in this documentary film. Atmospheric sound design and a striking mix of simple line drawings layered with archival photos reconstruct memories of the beloved family patriarch.
