Synopsis

Synopsis

An Iranian immigrant enlists his son’s help to negotiate with his landlord with both disastrous and humorous results. Anchored by strong performances and some dizzying camerawork, Baba reflects the urgency and annoyance of helping a reckless family member.

Synopsis

A group of queer activists in the north of Colombia uses fearless performance art and direct action to protest the region’s largest coal mine. Visually lush vignettes are punctuated with urgent hand-held moments of action, reflecting the care and chaos the protestors must hold simultaneously in the fight to save their region from ecological disaster.

In the aftermath of a violent incident, a 17-year-old Eissa must do all he can to protect his family.  Beautifully shot with superb performances by Kenyi Marcellino and Kenzi Mohamed, this impactful short lays bare the impossible choices migrants face every day.
